A speculative and fictionalised project that seeks to understand distant territories and those who inhabit them. Using drawing and photography, the inhabitants and their urban habitats are portrayed serially.
It is a visual exploration that investigates the mechanisms of construction of cultural identity in relation to the landscape and its inhabitants. For this, Salas creates drawings of the individuals who inhabit the landscapes captured in photographs by Montero. Using intuitive creation and the plastic relationship of images as a methodology, she narrates imagined identities. Through these fictional identities we investigate the discourses, often derived from prejudices and stereotypes, which underpin landscape-culture relations.
